On August 8th 2009 we raced the Trophy Bug in the Glen Helen Baja Cup Challenge, managed to roll the Bug on the 2nd lap (1st roll for me since I started racing in 2005) and ended up with a 1st place finish. Thanks to all those who helped, Pete, Beau, Robert, Ryan, BIG L, Tommy, and of course mom. Thanks to our sponsors, 4130 Clothing, SD Trophy, and Ocean Palms Beach Resort. Here is an in-car video of the rollover.
In July we raced the Trophy Bug at a fun event at the Del Mar Fair called Tuff Trucks and Beach Buggies. This is a timed race, we don't really know the results, but we had a great time, and it was a great opportunity to show off for our sponsors.

MDR Superstition 250 Race Report: Class 1 Truggy #114
First the good, Barry Blue II and Terry Blue preran the course the day before in the Streamline Baja Bug, we knew it was going to be rough, and of course it was. With about 8 miles of Gypsum Mine Road, this is one of the roughest courses in Plaster City to date. Barry Blue started the race 6th off the starting line, doing 3 of the 7 laps, he made it up to 3rd place physically, possibly 2nd place on time. The first lap consisted of dust, whoops, more dust, and more whoops. By time lap 1 was completed, Barry dealt with alot of lap traffic and would like to thank all the other classes for being kind and moving out of the way swiftly, no nerfing was necessary at all. During the first 3 laps, the dust was so bad that visibility was limited to 10 feet at times. This is due to there being absolutely no wind on race day.
For the bad, Barry handed the the truggy off to Peter, with Neils in the co-dog spot. They ended up cartwheeling the truggy at race mile 4 at about 75mph. The truck held up fine, Pete and Neils came out of the wreck safely. We have a few broken parts, and alot of fabrication to do, the most important thing is that everyone came out unhurt. We are aiming for the first race of the New DRIVE series in Plaster City, January 17th 2009 for the TrophyLite 200. More photos will be posted in the next few weeks here in the update section and in the media section.
Here are before and after photos of the crash:
Gregg Zumwalt in his 1450 truck finished 2nd place in 1450 with a flawless race despite having problems the day before the race. Congratulations Gregg!!!
DTA racing would like to thank Barry Sr, Terry, Beau, Britney, Lindsey, Peter, Neils, Roger, Gregg, Seth, Cargo, Javier, Joe and Nu-Era Motorsports for all moral and physical support. DTA also thanks all of our sponsors for the financial help. Ocean Palms Beach Resort, Utopia Optics, 4130 Clothing, American Trucks. We would also like to thank HM Engineering for the overnight machining of our spherical bearings, we wouldnt have made it if Jack didnt come through in time.
Thank You

Race Recap MDR New Years Bud Light Dash 12-31-07
Thanks to all the support and help!!! Pete, Neils, Greg, Mark, Cargo, Eric, Hemi, Red, Jared, Taka and Beau and the girls of course Britney and Lindsey.....and the intermittent pit advice from Rick St. john, Ray and Christian.
Had a great but stressful time...We raced class 1300 in the Trophy Baja Bug as a last minute decision, ended up running the same speed as some of the class 1 cars. Beau was supposed to get in the car and drive, but due to unforeseen technical sections that we didn’t find out about until we preran the course, he thought it would be best if I drive. He ended up Co-Driving along with Pete.
We ran a 55 minute first lap flawless, running hard averaging about 43mph, then 2nd lap lost an alternator, lost an hour and a half to downtime, but thanks to Danzio Racing Engines for the spare alternator and Pete, Greg, Mark, Cargo and Eric for the speedy support to Mile Marker 15, we got her running again...Then on both 3rd and 4th lap we were clogging the air filter with silt which had to cleaned out several times....Finished 3rd and got fastest lap in class and a little trophy... I owe all you guys big, were going to dinner!!!
PS The silt hills at the Dash were as nasty if not nastier then baja silt....
